NCSC's International Visitors Program
The NCSC's International Visitors
Education Program (IVEP), which is part of NCSC International, designs and
conducts educational programming for hundreds of international justice-sector leaders each
year. These programs are individually tailored to satisfy educational
criteria provided by the funders and participants. They can vary from one-day
seminars to one-week concentrated study of a specific court administration topic,
to multi-week comprehensive study of the American justice system. In a recent
rule of law RFP issued by the U.S. State Department Office of International
Visitors - Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the NCSC was recognized by name
as a training site for inclusion in programs for justice-system professionals. In
the last five years, IVEP has provided training for more than
2,300 international justice-sector professionals in over 275 individualized
programs.
The IVEP also coordinates special
multi-months exchange programs for interested counterparts. For several
years now, we cooperated with the Supreme Courts of South Korea and
Japan to provide participating judges with opportunities to observe court
operations and work side-by-side with judges in various courts in the
U.S.
The IVEP staff
has extensive experience in designing and
providing specially tailored training and education programs for individuals from around the
world. Working closely with our counterparts abroad we develop programs
that match their needs and financial capabilities to the extent possible.
