Chamber of Advocates & Legal Aid Commemorate Signing of MOU
|

On December 3, USAID hosted the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Kosovo Chamber of Advocates and Legal Aid Commission. The initiative brought together the two most important organizations required by law to provide free-of-charge legal representation to vulnerable groups and under-represented communities of Kosovo, to ensure increased attention to access to justice for all citizens. The signing event featured remarks by Mission Director, Patricia Rader; Hajredin Kuci, Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo; Blerim Isufaj, Political Advisor to the Minister of Justice; Sokol Haziri, Legal Aid Commissioner; and Drita Rexhepi, Legal Aid Coordinator.

The Haiti Stabilization Initiative (HSI) recently published its first newsletter highlighting activities that have been conducted Cite Soleil since early 2008. The HSI approach integrates security and development, targeting what was the most difficult and dangerous zone in Haiti. NCSC plays an important role in this effort by facilitating access to justice for the citizens of Cite Soleil. |
